Web Wiz GDPR Statement
Introduction
New data protection legislation came into force in May 2018, which aims to give protection to people's privacy. It introduces new responsibilities that apply to all public bodies, businesses and other organisations that process personal data. The legislation comprises the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018, which both came into force in May 2018.
This GDPR Statement is in conjunction with our Data Protection and Privacy Policy.
- Definitions
- Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
- A Data Controller is the organisation which determines how personal data is processed.
- A Data Processor is an organisation which processes data on behalf of a Data Controller. This typically would be a third party who is used by the Data Controller to process their data.

Web Wiz is committed to being GDPR Compliant in how we store and handle personal data in both our roles as Data Controller and Data Processor.
As the Data Controller, Web Wiz is committed to security and protection of the personal data that we process on our customers and that it meets requirements for GDPR Compliance.
As the
Data Processor, Web Wiz is committed to security and protection of the personal data that our customers store on the Hosting Services that we provide and that it meets requirements for GDPR Compliance.
- Your Responsibilities
When you use services provided by Web Wiz to store or process your personal data, including that of your users or customers, you are the Data Controller, and Web Wiz is a Data Processor. GDPR requires that you, as the Data Control, are GDPR Compliant when you process personal data.
- Data Location
All data that you store on our Servers is stored within the UK at our own Data Centre, and properties that are owned and operated by Web Wiz and the Directors of Web Wiz Ltd. None of your data you store on our Servers is transferred outside the UK.
- Backups
Part of GDPR obligations is to ensure we have appropriate backups of our own data. We also provide backup services to our customers as either part of the service or as an optional extra.
Upon deleting personal data from our 'live' Servers due to how backups are stored, the personal data remains on our backup services until overwritten this will happen within 30 days.
- Data Breaches
GDPR Requires that any data breaches are reported to the regulator. In the event that a data breach occurs, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) within 48 hours of the breach coming to our attention.
