Deleting Emails Using SmarterMail WebMail

Running low on diskspace for your email? This article shows you how to free-up email diskspace from the SmarterMail WebMail Service.

A single email with attachments can use the same amount of diskspace as 1,000 emails with no attachments. The best way to recover the most diskspace is to delete the largest emails.

1. First sign-in to your WebMail Service. You can follow this guide on how to log into the WebMail Service.

2. Sort your emails by size using the Sort button. For our current task, we will sort by Size in Descending order. This way we can see the largest emails are taking up the most space on the mailbox list by largest first.

3. Select any Emails that you wish to delete by holding CTRL Button on your keyboard and clicking on each Email then click the Delete button.

4. A popup will ask you to confirm you would like to delete the selected emails. Ensuring you have not mistakenly selected any important Emails, you should confirm your deletion by clicking the Delete button.

5. Your deleted Emails will be moved to the Deleted Items folder. For the next stage select the Deleted Items folder.


6. Select the Delete button to purge emails from your Deleted Items folder freeing-up diskspace from your mailbox.


6. Your mailbox size should now reflect the deleted items, and thus be smaller.
