Create Mail Server MX Record
This article shows you how to setup DNS MX Record to point email for your Web Wiz Registered Domain at a mail server using the Web Wiz DNS Zone Editor located in your Domain Registration Manager.
1. Login to Web Wiz Client Area Account and go to your Domain Registration Manager
2. Click on the Domain Name that you wish setup an MX Record for
3. From the Domain Registration Status page scroll down to the Domain Options section and click on the DNS Zone Records (Host Records) option
4. If the DNS service is not already enabled for your domain you will need to click the button Enable DNS Service
5. The DNS Zone Editor displays DNS Records for your domain
6. To Create a new MX Record scroll to the Create DNS Zone Record form, select MX - Mail Server from the drop down and click Next
7. On the Create DNS Zone - MX Record page in the Host Name field enter the desired Host Name. Unless you are setting up a mail server for a sub domain this would be left blank
8. In the Mail Server (MX) field enter the MX record you need to point your domain name to
9. In the
MX Priority field leave this as 10 unless you have mutiple mail servers in which case the prefered mail servers should have the lowest priorty number
Please note; Due to Internet Caching it may take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to fully propagate around the Internet. You can use the tools below which do not use caching to check that any DNS settings are correctly set:-
